How To Pass a Computer-Based Test
Author: Marlene FavelaMany people find taking a test stressful. But the sooner you overcome this horror, the better results you will be getting. It will all be dependent on how confident you are to take this challenge. This could just take a few days or even a few long months to some.
You can use any of the study techniques, whichever you think would best work for you. What is important is sticking to the one that you enjoy, so as to gain advantage, assuring you of a more positive result. It could be a trial and error at first, but you will eventually find the right one. Some of the most common methods are written below.
For visual subjects, you can make copies of diagrams or maps. Familiarize yourself by reviewing the main parts, followed by the sub-parts. When you have already recognized the parts, draw it on a paper to gauge how well you have remembered it. You might want to go over it again until you get something close to perfect.
Prepare yourself physically. Avoid getting stressed out. Lack of sleep will tire you out so go to bed early. It has proven to be more effective in giving better test results that staying up all night. A good breakfast is also essential. Who could ever concentrate on an empty stomach?
Befriend your classmates and form a study group. You can discuss topics and encourage everyone to raise questions and figure out answers. Every contribution will be considered helpful Do this on a regular basis, may it be over the phone or setup a customary meeting. If you’re studying on your own, getting the support of friends and family is helpful.
Using a color-coded highlighting system will save you time. You can use it on your textbook or on your notes, this will help you remember the more important details. This is also a good way to do outlining. Assign colors per category and when you are done, you can now easily write it down without going through everything.
One thing that you should always keep in mind is know your limits. It is but normal to cram before an exam but it will do you no good if you stay up all night and force your head to absorb everything. You will find yourself very worn-out in the morning, which could eventually affect the test’s result.
Study periods can be broken up with exercise and things to get your body moving. This gets the blood flowing in your body. You can try shooting some basketball hoops, going for a run or something more detailed such as restoring and polishing chrome trim – a lot of arm effort is required!
Taking practice tests is an excellent way to prepare yourself, and often these are available online. You may also find that people have posted reviews and tips of the specific test you are taking. Once you are ready to take the test be aware of any time limits, and also any restrictions around going back to complete questions you missed.
